I show up on her door-step with my tracksuit on and a heavy duty headband on because if Just Dance is anything like Dance Dance Revolution things are about to get intense! We pop it in, hit play and things start rolling. We decided to go with 2 players so my 4 year old bestie could kick my ass. You know what I mean! Kids always have unimaginable amount of energy and this kid was like an animal!
Bestie decided upon Reel 2 Real's "Move It!" Here's a fair warning if you haven't hit the gym in awhile you're going to be sweatin' up a storm and panting so hard your dog is going to push his water bowl to your side! I was amazed by the fact that I actually had to the exact if not similar dance moves! After playing a few rounds of the long versions of our selections, I had figured out what I liked and what I didn't like. I loved doing the dancing, my favorite song was New Kids on the Block's "Step by Step", showing the dance moves at the bottom of the screen is a definite plus as it helped me achieve maximum scoring! Along with being able to choose to either do a short version of the song or the long version of the song.
I really didn't like how my 4 year old bestie didn't like the fact that I chose Britney Spears' "Womanizer" and decided to sit out out this time around by laying his controller on the ground and walking away. Somehow, he still managed points... like seriously? This is UNBELIEVABLE! If this were Dance Dance Revolution this kid would have been booed off by the crowds by now!
Overall, this is a very fun game! Especially, for party entertainment or for a fun way to lose weight. Also, if you actually enjoy dancing you can bust out with your newly found moves on the dance floor without being heckled... this would definitely not be the case if you decided to use your Dance Dance Revolution moves... because standing in place and pretending to stomp on the correct arrows makes it look like you escaped the psych ward but hey! Anything can go these days when Jerking is all the rage everyone will probably just think you picked up some incredible new moves from the European disco shacks while you were a foreign exchange student.
My rating is three stars and a half only because this game could have been much much more. A better variety of songs and a better accuracy meter are just a few things. If they could incorporate some automated peer pressure into the game, that'd be nice too. What can I say? I'm a straight up Dance Dance Revolution junkie but that still doesn't mean I didn't enjoy pretending to be in a nonstop iPod commercial.
